Our Local Community
Kadampa Meditation Center Brooklyn is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT). The NKT is an International Union of Kadampa Buddhist Centers. There are currently more than 1,200 Kadampa Buddhist centers and branches in 40 countries around the world, each with qualified teachers and a full program of introductory classes, structured study programs and meditation retreats. Throughout the year, we gather as a family of practitioners at KMC-New York and World Peace Temple in Glen Spey, NY — home of our national temple — for festivals, special courses, and retreats.
Here are just some of our local sister centers — some have numerous branch locations throughout the city and the Tri-State area:
KMC-New York City and KMC-Williamsburg in NYC
KMC-Long Island in Huntington, NY
Vajralight Buddhist Center in Westchester, NY
Dharmachakra Kadampa Buddhist Center in Vauxhall, NJ
